ciao marco,
mi chiamo silvia vivo a verona italia e ho appena visto la terra degli uomini rossi su cinema emotions canale del digitale terrestre…di norma lavoro, ma oggi non sto bene e sono a casa a riposo. Complimenti, il messaggio è forte e chiaro per chi lo vuole cogliere e parla di questo genocidio che dura da secoli e parla di noi che uccidendo e sterminando ci uccidiamo e ci sterminiamo… la metafora è raffinata, sottile e fa riflettere…
grazie per questo momento e buon lavoro

Hola, desgraciadamente no eh visto la pelicula que acabo de conocer que axiste, ojala algun dia me llegue, pero seguramente, y por lo visto en el triler y las fotos y toda la pagina es una obra fenomenal y un documento de protesta fuerte, conociendo la problematica de los guaranies en toda sudamerica e intentando dar una mano para que los nativos retomen su pacifica vida y puedan alcanzar su prometida tierra sin mal.

Sarebbe possibile intervistarti per la radio SBS per cui lavoro?
Andiamo in onda in 68 lingue diverse tra cui l’italiano.

Caro Marco, ho visto ieri il film al festival “Cero Latitud” a Quito, dove vivo da 3 anni. io e mio marito abbiamo viaggiato per sei mesi nell’Amazzonia brasiliana e ho sentito tante storie come quella che racconti. Il film mi è piaciuto proprio per la sua semplicitá…la realtá è proprio questa. La prima conseguenza del nostro viaggio in Brasile è stato smettere di mangiare carne di vacca, per gli effetti devastanti che abbiamo visto il suo allevamento produce sulle foreste. Sembra una stupidaggine, ma lo sciamano nel tuo film lo dice chiaramente: le mucche occupano le terre degli indigeni, e le distruggono. Oltre a sostenere le campagne per difendere i Guaraní e gli altri popoli in pericolo invito tutti a ripensare alle loro abitudini…saluti a tutti e grazie per il film!

I’d like to send you a copy of our program, for Festival Présence autochtone.

The print was shipped back to France immediately.
I gathered peoples’ impressions and am still puzzled by the wide variety of reactions.
In fact, the 3 of us, the programmers (André, José and myself), all enthusiastic about the film, were surprised and disappointed by the jury’s decision to not include it among the finalists. And the jury was composed of respectable colleagues. I do not agree with them but the jury has the last word, of course.
Many of those who are intimately familiar with historical and contemporary conditions in latin america and canada (the legacy of colonialism) admired the film, for its truthfulness and its irony, its universality, the music score, the subtle handling of characters who are torn in different directions, none of them being monolithic, the low-key composition of the assassination sequence, a narrative of reconquest full of obstacles and traps, and the music score.
Several friends agree with us.
Others, those not as convinced, brought up issues such as: people looking into the camera, acting too natural or not natural enough, stereotypical acting of the landowner family, loose narrative, handling of seduction scene in trailer. I hotly debated most of these remarks.
I suspect some would have preferred to see a film with the Guarani dressed up as they are at the beginning of the film, to make believe they were untouched by western civilization.
I filmed three documentaries over 12 years in Guatemala, about the aftermath of war and the society, and my experience there makes your film ring so true.
It’s a great film, and I wish you the best, for this one and the next ones.
